Since this meetup group was going to end (as Walt has left the group), I wanted to take the opportunity to invite you to join the Richmond Area World Tavern Poker Meetup Group ( http://www.meetup.com/Richmond-Area-World-Tavern-Poker-League-Meetup-Group/  ). The Richmond Area World Tavern Poker Meetup Group is a way for people new to the area and new to poker to learn about the restaurants and bars in the area that offer World Tavern Poker league poker tournaments – free of charge. It is a great way for people new to the area to get out and meet new people!

Since World Tavern Poker is a nationwide league, there are many benefits available to you that would not be possible in a smaller, more regionalized league. The biggest benefit to you would be the large prize pool. We give out prizes at the local, regional, and national levels ranging from trophies and medallions to 26 seats to the World Series of Poker – including a $10,000 main event seat!

For those who want to venture to Las Vegas or Atlantic City we have an event that we call the World Tavern Open at both locations every year. This is a 4 day poker party where you get great hotel rates, private poker tournaments, and great parties! Imagine having your name and photo playing on the large LCD display on Freemont Street in Las Vegas! This has happened in our parties in the past!

We never ask our players to pay any fees and you never have to worry about getting the prizes that we offer!  Just come out and have a good time!
