Texas Solar Power Society Pages

Mission Statement: The goal of the Texas Solar Power Society is to conduct community outreach programs, seminars and workshops to educate the masses on the features and benefits of distributed energy solar rooftop arrays and migrate public policy decisions away from fossil fuels that pollute the environment.

Strategic Goals: Utilize a media press room, press releases, media relations and press conferences to make sure that the media has its facts and figures straight on how billions of dollars of federal subsidies make coal to be a cheap source of energy while destroying the earth's environment and how the wide spread deployment of distributed energy rooftop solar power arrays provide the world's cheapest source of clean energy during on-peak power demands.

By clicking on the links below, you will be able to research why coal is actually one of the most expensive sources of energy on earth. Most politicians and members of the media think that coal is cheaper than solar, but the real truth of the matter is that the coal industry receives $2.5 billion in subsidies in Texas alone. Subsidies cover coal mining, coal railroad transportation, coal power plant construction and coal's expensive pollution cleanup.

If solar received as much federal and state subsidies as coal, solar would be the most affordable energy resource in the Texas. Why not harness Texas' most abundant and dependable natural resource?
