The next meeting place for Lone Star NYC is now set for September 10th at Stout NYC! What they've got there is a great little downstairs bar, away from all the noise upstairs, and no long tables to keep people apart. Oh, and a very nice menu, with something on it for just about everyone.
If you know of someone who's new in town from our neck of the woods, please bring them along, or forward our link to them. As we all know, New York City can be a pretty overwhelming place for the new arrival, and as was suggested after the last meetup, we can provide a valuable service by positioning ourselves as kind of a welcoming committee for Texans who are fresh off the (plane? train? Chevy F-150?).
This meetup, like the last one, will be loose and informal. By the time we meet, though, I'll have complete information about the children's literacy program that Lone Star NYC will soon be aligning itself with, and I'd love to have a couple of volunteers to help me with that as we go into the holiday season.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing you at the next meetup of Lone Star NYC!
