We are a group of tennis fanatics that love competitive tennis as much as hanging out with one another. So this meetup is unique in regards to the social aspect. This club is ideally for 4.0+ players, although if you are borderline but committed to improving, you are welcome to apply. In many cases, particularly borderline NTRP levels, you will be evaluated first.
If you join the group you should know that the event host may change your RSVP at their discretion. This can be for any number of reasons but primarily due to skill disparities. You must respect all RSVP attendance limits and decisions. As you play with others in this group, you will get a better idea of how your skill set compares and you should exercise discretion in joining meetups if you are well below the other players. Our meetups are generally open to all people. No-showing and changing your RSVP last-minute without a given reason is unacceptable.
In the past, we've had new members no-show and simply shrug their shoulders when asked for an explanation. If you ignore the fact that you stood up several people by no-showing and think it's no big deal and don't take the initiative to apologize, then this group is not for you. You will be removed with no possibility of rejoining.
Lastly, being a good player isn't enough to succeed in this group. You must have good social graces. Negative attitudes towards others, even if you are an awesome player, is incompatible with this group. Remember, people are not obligated to play with you if they don't enjoy your company. Even if you aren't negative but there is a lack of social engagement on your part, people still might not enjoy playing with you.
With all that out of the way, welcome! We hope to see you on the courts soon.
Please note that you, and only you, are responsible for your well being at all tennis events. By joining this meetup, you acknowledge this statement and agree to hold only yourself accountable for your actions and anything that happens to you.
