What is social media?

The essence of social media is CONNECTION. In this day in age we have a fantastic opportunity to connect and share on a GLOBAL level via the internet. I'm sure you have heard of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Linkedin, Meetup (obviously!) and the endless other platforms for social networking and sharing, but do you know how to REALLY use them or use them at all?. These tools are truly amazing and they are tools people, TOOLS. Each platform has it's own unique and intricate system and set of functions for sharing and connecting. I will be sharing with you my knowledge and experience regarding how these tools function and the fruits of interacting with them. This will be a very organic process of learning! We will discuss the details of hashtags, tweetdecks, discussion groups and endless rabbit holes of deeper connection within these platforms. Whether you are looking to market yourself, your business, unemployed and utilizing these platforms as search engines or just trying to stay connected and learn, this is where you need to be!

In our initial Meetup we will touch on as many platforms as we can within our time frame. Thereafter we will tailor our meet ups according to our group and individual interests.
