Rose is very involved with Ananda South Bay right now and can’t make it down to lead the Orange County meditation group. I will miss her tremendously and I know that is true for you, also.

I’m hoping you will all join me in group meditation and bring your special energy…and that together we can contribute to each other’s practice!

The Meditation Ananda Style group is open to everyone, from those who want to learn about meditation to those who would like to practice together to those who want encouragement in keeping a regular personal practice.

Meditation is simply the stilling of the mind and body...and the opening of the heart. It is not a passive state, sleep, "blanking out the mind" or a kind of hypnosis, but involves a higher state of energy. Some believe meditation is a way of tuning in to divine guidance.

Meditation can be practiced by persons of any religion. It is taught even in corporations as a means of reducing stress and improving health. Studies have shown a regular meditation practice can lower blood pressure and improve health in other ways related to stress reduction.

St. Teresa of Avila said: "A meditation is well-spent, if all you did was fight distractions."

According to Ananda Meditation Teachers,"Meditation is meant to change every aspect of your life; the test of your success in meditation is not in visions or what you see, hear, or feel in meditation, but rather how you are changing as a person in everyday life; the goal is to have your whole life become a meditation."
