West Coast swing to the blues. A nice waltz would be nice though.
I'm interested in learning and developing additional skills in most types of dance. I had to take a few years off so I am a bit rusty. I've had limited classes/experience in ChaCha, Rumba, Tango, Lindy Hop swing, 2-step, 4 count, Hustle and latin/Salsa dance. Overall favorite is any swing dance. Most experience with Waltz, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing. Moderate experience West Coast Swing but it took innumerable classes to just get the basics, but was worth it to hang in there.
Over the years I've taken many classes and honestly, I am and never will be a natural dancer and am often a terrible follower to boot. I believe that WCS is one of the hardest to learn, let alone truly master. Early on I took a begining WCS class and during rotation danced with an expert. Not just any expert, this guy could lead like no other and had me following (as if I had a clue that I knew how or what - which I didn't). I don't remember his name but have rarely had other WCS expert men/leads that came close to that. Honestly though, I am just happy that any guy is willing to dance so in the end it really doesn't matter!
No favorite dance partner, although prefer to dance with someone that doesn't take it too seriously. For me it is all about having fun, I could care less if I am the "best" dancer in the room.
Swing and ballroom dance... Waltz, Foxtrot
In the past I volunteered with Fairbanks Ballroom Dance Club and loved it. I miss the many friends that I made there. I enjoy being social, active and have a fairly upbeat personality.
Impressed with the West Coast Swing classes taught by Liv and Van
