WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

This group is about taking part in fun events that can help raise funds for charities that have caught Angies attention. Some of the events [ the 'Real Talk' events ] encourage discussions about subjects ranging from The Mayan Prophecies[ what is the fuss about? what do we need to do? has the awakening begun] to Inner Peace[ what methods work for you?] etc. Some events will be about having a fun quiz or a Salsa night; All events will have entertainment from Angie A and will help support the release & promotion of her upcoming material. One of the songs from Angies' E.P is called 'Wot's Going On?', asking the question in relation to youth gun and knife crime. Angie hopes to raise funds for the Youth Charity- The Princes Trust[ who once helped her back in the day ], who offer support and interventions to steer troubled youth and youth in general away from a life of crime or to give youth positive alternative routes to finding employment.

Charities Angie has chosen:

THE PRINCES TRUST-

About The Trust

The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives.

We give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation. We work with 13 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law.

We have helped more than 600,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people we helped last year moved into work, education or training.

Around one in five young people in the UK are not in work, education or training. Youth unemployment costs the UK economy £10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime costs £1 billion every year.

Angie will be initially focusing on the Princes Trust Riot Appeal:

UK City Riots Appeal

Help us raise vital funds for young people in communities torn apart by the riots.

"The message was clear – the vast majority of young people were not involved in the riots and they need positive opportunities more than ever before. They want to re-build their broken communities, to develop confidence in themselves and hope for the future".

The Prince’s Trust has announced plans to double the support for young people across five of the areas hardest hit by the England riots, including Manchester, Birmingham and the London communities of Hackney, Tottenham and Croydon.

The Prince’s Trust is committing £1 million from funds previously donated. But we urgently need to raise a further £1.5 million in order to achieve our goals.

EAST AFRICA APPEAL:

East Africa Appeal

Six months since the crisis in East Africa began, we've saved hundreds of thousands of children's lives - thanks to your incredible generosity. But money is running low and we urgently need your support if we're to continue with our vital life-saving work in 2012. Please help us. Please donate what you can now.

We have reached a critical moment in our response. We desperately need to secure more funds to keep our work going this year and build on what we’ve achieved in the last six months.

Angie says " So if we reach our £500 target, we should be able to make some kind of difference- it may be beneficial for me to actually go to these areas and check out for myself how money raised is used "

Families have lost their crops, livestock, and their food supplies - up to 60% of cattle have died in some areas. Food and water prices have soared.

THE REACT CHARITY:

React- Giving Depth To Short Lives-

React - Rapid Effective Assistance for Children with Potentially Terminal illness is a dynamic charity working to improve the quality of life for children with life-limiting illnesses living in financially disadvantaged households throughout the UK. Our work is unrivalled by any other organisation and our passion and belief that every child should have comfort, dignity, and the opportunity to participate in life as fully as possible is our driving force.

"Although his loving parents strive to give

Khalid the best life possible and provide their

“smiling and giggling” boy with all the love

and support he needs, there are times when

even the most capable of families need a

little helping hand. React has supported

Khalid and his family on a number of

occasions over the past two years, providing

specialist seating, a specialist car seat, a

fridge freezer and a sofa; all vital pieces of

equipment that were beyond the family

budget,yet essential to Khalid's care"

Summerlyn [ Khalids' Mum ]said:

“I want to say a big thank

you to React for supplying the equipment

Khalid needs. It’s made a huge difference to

Khalid’s life and for that I cannot say thank

you enough. Thank you!”
