NOW FULL! Free Commercial Aquaponics Tour at The GrowHaus

The GrowHaus is an indoor farm, marketplace and educational center in Denver's Elyria-Swansea neighborhood, an area considered a "food desert" lacking a grocery store within 3 square miles. Their goal is to provide healthy, affordable food for the surrounding community and raise awareness about issues of food justice and sustainability. For over four years, JD and Tawyna Sawyer and their business, Colorado Aquaponics, have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with the GrowHaus. There are several different styles of aquaponic systems currently in operation at the GrowHaus. Produce from these systems is being sold to both the community and to local restaurants within a five mile radius of the farm. One restaurant client of note, Same Cafe, practices a belief that everyone, regardless of economic status, deserves the chance to eat healthy food while being treated with dignity—a philosophy which aligns with the the GrowHaus mission as well as their desire to produce environmentally and socially responsible food. Join us on Saturday, Nov. 30 @ 10:am for the free aquaponics tour at The GrowHaus.

The tour was well worth the effort. It was great to get behind the windows and look at nitty gritty mechanical and operational details. JD was a great host who answered every question with lots of satisfying detail. This tour is for anyone with a love of living things and an interest in technical matters. Will recommend to others.

Looking forward to meeting you all this Saturday at the GrowHaus. which is located at 4751 York St in Denver. It could be a busy tour with this group and other walk ins. If there is no parking in the front of the building please drive around back and park on Claude Ct. or on York st north of the railroad tracks. Happy Thanksgiving
