ASPS Season's Greetings!

Dear Friends,

The Creative Executive Team, the Advisory Board & the Board of Directors at The Art Song Preservation Society (ASPS) would like to offer season’s greetings and best wishes for a Happy New Year to each of you!

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks for making this year’s A Season of Music: Summer of Song such a great success! Guided by our extraordinary team of guest artists,Thomas Grubb, Carol Kimball, Margaret Lattimore and Thomas Muraco, we were able to offer a sensational array of classes focused on the professional development of aspiring singers and collaborative pianists. We continued our community outreach by performing for several senior centers throughout the New York area, we partnered with Sage Music to present three outdoor concerts at the Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, and we presented our American song concert in tribute to September 11th at the National Opera America Center. Lastly,NYC Opera Consultant & Dramaturg, Cori Ellison, and master piano collaborator, Thomas Muraco joined me in adjudicating the semi-finals of The Mary Trueman Art Song Vocal Competition where we had the privilege of auditioning over 60 talented singers from all over the world. What an incredible year it has been!

While ASPS is doing well thanks in great part to each of you who have maintained an interest in our programs by participating, attending as an observer, and/or through the generous contributions you have made, we still have much to do to ensure another successful year. We were so very honored to receive a significant grant from Lower Manhattan Cultural Council that contributed significantly to our success this past year. I write today asking you to stand with me to ensure an even brighter future by making an end of the year tax-exempt contribution to ASPS. It can be done quickly and safely through our website:

I hope that you will consider helping us meet our end of year goal and continue to advance our mission of preserving, revitalizing, and promoting the art song repertoire and the art song recital. No amount is too small or insignificant.

Many thanks in advance for your generosity, support and participation in 2013. We look forward to seeing each of you next year for A Season of Music: Spring Into Song. We already have a host of talented musicians of the highest caliber on board that include: Dalton Baldwin, Elem Eley, Thomas Grubb, Thomas Muraco, Marni Nixon, and Benita Valente. So prepare for another wonderful year in celebration of song!
