"Non-Violence: No Higher Calling” (www.nonvio.org) is a national movement, inspired by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, to bring to fore the power of non-violence as over ten million of our fellow citizens fall victim to crimes annually. A single act of violence causes suffering to impacted families and communities for years to come.
"Non-Violence: No Higher Calling" is a movement dedicated to making the voice of non-violence louder. For every act of violence, we will commit to a hundred acts of non-violence. And thus we will reach a billion acts of non-violence.
The launch movement culminates at Morehouse College, Atlanta on Wednesday, April 3, where Sri Sri will share his vision for creating a stress-free, violence-free society. He will be awarded the Gandhi-King-Ikeda Community Builder's Prize in recognition for being one of today’s leading voices of non-violence.
"I have this crazy idea - a world without violence. This may appear to be hoping for Utopia, but we need to dream and we will get there!! If we instill pride in being non-violent - in being compassionate, in being helpful to others, our lives will take a new direction...And that should be our unwavering commitment!"
