Sketch Comedy. By Women. For Everyone.
broadminded is Milwaukee’s Femme Fatale of comedy: their comedy kills even the most critical of audience members.
After eight years of writing and performing their own sketch comedy, the ladies of Broadminded know a few things about DIY (aka Do-It-Yourself). Need a giant mitten costume? Fashion it out of an afghan and some twine. Don't have any male performers in the group? Grab a backwards hat and mimic your brother's walk. Have an idea for a cool video? Record it on a borrowed camcorder and delve into iMovie. So, it should come as no surprise that they're tackling Do-It-Yourself topics like self help, home improvement, and Pinterest projects gone wrong in their new show, DIY. Catch this new comedy at the Tenth Street Theatre, 628 N. 10th Street in downtown Milwaukee, on April 4, 5, 11 and 12. Shows start at 7:30 pm. The show is produced by Milwaukee Comedy, Inc. and is appropriate for ages 16 and up. Advance tickets will be available for $12 at www.broadmindedcomedy.com; tickets at the door are cash only.
Broadminded features the writing, performing, directing, costuming, set decoration, video editing, lighting and sound design, and everything-elsing of Stacy Babl, Anne Graff LaDisa, Melissa Kingston and Megan McGee. They've learned a lot since they started working together back in 2006. Online sales close one hour before showtime. After this time, tickets will only be sold at the door. Cash only at the door. Credit card purchases must be made online through Brown Paper Tickets.
