If you like to network to promote your business but hate standing around networking events racking your brain to find a good 'conversation starter' then this is YOUR group. If you leave networking events feeling like you didn't make contact with half the people there then this is YOUR group. If you feel like you go to networking events and get stuck in endless conversations that you cant squeeze out of then this is YOUR group. And - if you just generally like networking and giving back to your community then -you guessed it- this is YOUR group. My intention in starting this group is to approach networking in a different way than usual! The group will do three things 1) MAKE NETWORKING EASY! 2) MAKE NETWORKING EFFICIENT 3) MAKE NETWORKING FAST - Here's How: During the first half hour of every event as everyone pours in there will be a fish bowl labeled #1 at the entrance. Everyone should put one (1) business card into the fish bowl. After the first 30 min we will line up to draw business cards. You will draw a business card and then find the person whose card you drew (We'll have nametags), and that's who you will be networking with for the next 5-7 minutes! Then you will ask the other person 3 questions 1) Who do you work for? 2) What's your title and what do you do? 3) What could I do to help your business? - No need for awkward silences while you wait fot the other person to say something, or while you try to figure a way to work in what they could do to promote your business. Then in 5-7 minutes, we will re-group and do it over again thus maximizing the amount of people you are able to make contact with and making the networking process easy and efficient for you!! LAST, but definitely not least - there will be a fish-bowl labeled #2 at the door. At every event we ask that you each put $5 in fish-bowl #2. All of the money will go to a different local charity each time we have an event! I feel like this is an effective way to network and I hope to see many people join and attend our first MeetUp!! ...Meet other locals from all Industries to discuss your Business Ideas and Strategies. Gather to discuss current events, share experiences, and to network with other people interested in Business.
