Introduction
I've been collecting comics since I was 8 or 9. I'll read manga, superhero comics, Archie, Tintin, Elfquest etc. although there are times when I'm more into some genres or characters than others. My favorite artists are Dan DeCarlo and George Perez.
What is your favorite comic book?
Archie. It's not because I'm a girl, but because I think Archie comics have really stayed true to themselves in a way that DC and Marvel haven't. I like being able to pick up an Archie and not have to have a flow chart to figure out what all the characters are doing. I'm becoming more interested in Bob Montana's version of Archie, because his style seems very different than the later iterations. I go through fits where I like superhero comics, but the ret-conning gets on my nerves (if DC was going to kill off Jason Todd, he should have just stayed dead). I generally like Batman, and I also like Fantastic Four from the 1980s and Teen Titans during the Wolfman and Perez era. Fawcett's Captain Marvel is also a favorite of mine.
Do you read mostly comics from a particular publisher (DC/Marvel/etc.)?
Archie, but I also read DC and Marvel, especially from the 1980s and 1970s.
What makes a great comic book?
Good art and solid storytelling.
