Brrr...it's still cold outside and the major holidays are over! Before spring comes along, let's say goodbye to winter weather...Caliente style!!

That's right ladies and gentlemen, YCC will be having its first ever Chili cookoff in honor of the winter months.  Alison and Russell contacted me with a great idea for our members to get together and show off their cooking skills-to have a chili cookoff!! For those of us that pride ourselves on being the next Masterchef, this is definitely the meetup for you.

It would be great if everyone who signed up for this meetup could bring a chili dish, however, you do not have to.  This is how it's going to work:

This will be a BYOB/BYOS type of set up (Meaning the fixins that accompany the chili and an app or dessert) to share with fellow members (this seems to work out quite well with this group!!)

If you are not planning on participating in the chili cookoff, please make sure to bring two items (either two apps, app and dessert, or two desserts).

For those participating in the chili cookoff:

*Bring a place card to put in front of your dish so people know what there eating. For example: Veggie Chili or Chicken Chili...etc. Feel free to bring the fixin's that accompany it (I honestly didn't know what that word meant until I got to Atlanta.lol).

*Make sure to bring a copy of your recipe to place in front of your dish so people know what they're eating.  Reason being, is that there are people that are allergic to certain products and we don't want anyone having allergic reactions.

*Please show up 30 mins prior to the meetup so that you're able to set up your dish (heating, placement, etc).

*Voting details will be explained the day of event. Please beware that this will be done all in fun.  While it is a competition, please do not bring Kobe like mentality when participating in this event.lol. Meaning, try not to get too competitive!! There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners:)

Please do not rsvp as a no if you do not plan on attending this meetup.  Thanks for understanding!!

I love this idea! But, I admit, I feel bad for all the people who are going to be so amazed by my chili that they'll never want to eat another thing again!
