1st Thursday of every month Stammtisch

Hallo alle,

unser monatliches Treffen findet zusammen mit dem German American Stammtisch bei 5 Seasons Brewing Co. in Sandy Springs statt. Jeder ist herzlich eingeladen! Es ist immer eine gute Gelegenheit, Deutsch zu sprechen und zu üben, neue Bekanntschaften zu schließen, und das Essen und Trinken von 5 Seasons zu genießen.

Hi everyone,

Our monthly meeting is with the German American Stammtisch at 5 Seasons Brewing Co. in Sandy Springs. Everyone is invited! It's always a good chance to speak German, get to know new people, and enjoy the food and beverages at 5 Seasons. Till then!

Hello, I look forward to meeting everyone in the group. I have not begun my German lessons yet and nervous that I don't speak the language.

It's ok. It's difficult but if you're willing, you can do it! Viel Glueck!

Stamm means literally "stem", but in combination with other words, it takes on different meanings. Baumstamm is a "tree-stem" or trunk. When you combine Stamm with Kneipe (pub), it means your regular pub, your usual hangout (meine Stammkneipe). Tisch means table, and a Stammtisch is literally your regular table, but it has evolved to mean a regular meeting of friends, often at a pub where they have a table reserved weekly. My boyfriend's Stammtisch is at a pub, his mother's is at a café post-yoga lessons, and mine is a card-playing group that rotates around different locations. :)
