The Augusta Investing Meetup Group Message Board › The Augusta Investing Meetup Group Discussion Forum › **Weekly Stock Checkup**
"While this is usually the most exciting time of year for investors, we would ignore what should happen, and focus on what is happening."
CSRA CAN-SLIM Investors it is that time of the week for our weekly checkup of the stock market. The current market outlook is 'Uptrend Under Pressure' as the outlook changed this past Thursday on 11-7-2013. With all major indexes adding a distribution day. The time is not to panic because there are actually a few buying opportunities but majority of the momentum stocks have lost steam such as FB,LNKD,TSLA, and NFLX. I would recommend to pay attention to your stocks 1st and the indexes 2nd but please be cautious and be ready to sell if you are long any stock positions.
Amy and Matt had another great radioshow this past Saturday and discussed a selling checklist and provided some great advice for investors that are long the stocks right now. Make sure if you have any gains to seriously consider taking profits and if you have any losses please review the checklist and have a plan for selling. Notes and charts can be found at www.investors.com/radioshow.
There is a hot industry and right now that is the 3-D printing industry as VJET the IPO that came public last month. Majority of the stocks in the industry group have posted good earnings and have a short rally going on. While VJET has skyrocted more than 80% since is IPO price it may be best to wait for it to post earnings on Thursday 11-14-2013 before considering a position if you have not already taking a position in the stock.
Just another friendly reminder that our last stock Meetup of the year will be this coming Saturday November 16 at the Columbia County Library from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. We will make sure to reflect on this past year investing and have a firm plan and goals for 2014. I would also like to thank our Veterans and active service men and women for serving our country for Veterans day today. Good luck investing this week and lets make $$ in stocks !!
