I've changed the site a bit so please look it over when you get a chance. Also, I'd like some input as to how you would like the group to operate. I'm having some difficulty organizing the Meetups.
I've never organized or instructed a group of people before so this is new to me.
I want to reiterate that this is a 'beginners' Photoshop Meetup with emphasis on learning the basics of the program. It is primarily designed for novices.
So please share with me:
Would a continuous 'starting with the basics' 4, 5 or 6-week course be better than trying to squeeze a ton of info all into one group session?
I'm thinking this way we could have time to pass the mouse and keyboard around so everyone can get a practical hands-on experience. I realize it may be a little slower but possibly a lot less confusing.
Would you like to do a take-home assignment to work on and then bring it in for critique?
Would there be more personal interest in a bi-monthly meeting rather than once a month? Once every three weeks? Would a weeknight be better than a weekend? afternoon or evenings? Day of the week? Tell me what you believe might generate the most attendance.
Is $10.00 per person fair for a 2-3 hr. session?
Remember, this is your group, you all signed up and I truly want to please everyone (or try to at least)
I prefer to hold the meetings at the same place 'La Madeleine' (38th and Lamar) as it's more centrally located and probably more convenient for everyone driving in from all different directions, not to mention, the restaurant allows us to use their quiet and private back room as long as most people purchase something to eat.
Please give me some feedback so I can make alterations. I'd really like to get a consensus.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
I created this group to teach people how to use this incredibly fantastic program. It will be a unique educational learning experience designed specifically for beginners. I have gained quite a bit of knowledge and insight working in the field with one of the most popular, powerful and professional photographic software programs ever created.
Many of you have expressed an interest and desire in learning the true impact of what Adobe Photoshop has to offer. Now is your chance to explore the endless possibilities of photo enhancement, restoration, modification, and manipulation.
Be sure to browse through the examples posted in the 'photos' section. Also check out some of the happy faces from past Photoshop Meetups!
If you can think it ... you can create it! With Photoshop ... the sky's the limit!
