Bring thoughts on different Parks and calendars.  Also, have heard of Austin Dog People Meetup group...I haven't joined but am thinking of it.  It's time we spread out but for Slim and I would like Legal off leash park.  Anyone been to Common Fords?  Made a mistake earlier and said this Saturday but meant January 12...See you soon!

We had lots of poodles, lots of fun. Great turnout despite weather.

It was fun! The dogs ran and played.

Slim and I will not be there today but to the ones who don't mind little slush decide on other meetups...I'm not very good at it - AND schedule them. Please.

OKAY, WE WILL PLAN ON IT AND MAYBE ALL CHECK E-MAILS IN A.M. IF IT IS RAINING AT 10 SLIM AND I WILL NOT BE THERE. We can soon, if weather permits, have a meetup at my house. 1 1/2 acres fenced... Till tomorrow

I say let's go for it unless when each of us looks out the door getting ready to leave it is really raining! We know what 40% usually means in Austin: nada.

I'll be bringing Shanti (5 yr old extremely happy girl) and Bodhi (14 month old boy). Yeah!

OKAY GUYS! CHANCE OF RAIN AFTER 9 A.M. THE PARK IS DIRT WHICH HUGE CHANCE OF BEING A MESS...CANCEL MEETUP? WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO...national weather service says 40 percent and possible thunderstorms...

Barring thunder and lightning, I am game, but maybe someone knows a place that is not full of mud. There is a mixed trail in a park off City Park Road that could work.

Commons Ford Park looks good. Hours are Tuesday-Sunday 1PM to 6PM when gates lock. If the weather looks better on Sunday we could switch OR do both for those interested. We have to go out every day anyway.

I live across the street from the informal dog park behind the TxDOT buildings on Bull Creek just South of 45th. I have been walking dogs there for 22+ years. The dogs on lease sign has been up forever. No one pays any attention to it, but its up to you all. Besides, that is the property that will soon be developed.

OKAY GUYS, MADE EXECUTIVE DECISION! As a precaution bout 45th Street am afraid we could get our Poodles in trouble...Vicious Poodle Pack, hahaha. Let's go to 10th street on Jan. 12 with suggestions and calendars! I will try and check out places and maybe y'all do the same. Have heard bout Commons Ford park, etc...Look up off leash parks...we need to have a Great place for our Poodle Doodles and I personally like to walk with them. ALSO remember anyone can schedule meetups! SEE YOU JANUARY 12

I am - but bit confused - it's a coffee bar? and is there a charge...

We might think about going to St. Edwards Park which is about 4 miles West of 360 on Spicewood Springs Road or to Commons Ford which is a wonderful park about 3 miles West of 360 off of Bee Caves Road. Both of these are out of the way but are wonderful.

Marcella and I think your executive decision fine, Ms Karen. We'll see you there on the 12th.....and maybe it won't be raining!

If the dog park at 45th is not really a dog park and there are signs that say "leash only" I'd be concerned that while a few dogs might be okay, a pack of poodles might be too much. I'm down south, but willing to travel. What about going to the dog park on 9th street?

I did mess up which Saturday...so, lets stick with 12th. Sounds like 45th street kinda middle of the road. BUT having said that, ANYONE CAN PLAN MEETUP! We all live everywhere and inconvenient for a lot of us. Joan had great suggestions off 360 I think so I will email her. But for now lets plan on 45th street? on 12th...I live off Slaughter and don't mind going to 45th and Bull Creek - if it is SAFE...Karen and Slim

Yes, I agree with Rita. Cedar Park park sounds neat, but I wouldn't be able to make it either since I live close to Rita!

While Cedar Park Bark Park sounds cool, I don't think I can make it out there.....it is a loooong way from where I live (near Airport Blvd and IH 35)

Are we discussing Saturday Jan. 5thor Sat Jan 12?

    January 3

    • Kim Raymond

I am new and have never been, but the 5th is better for me

  • Roxann Niemann

I have missed a lot of the Poodle meet ups because they are always so far away. Would be nice to have this one at the Cedar Bark Park so we could attend.

Thanks for suggestions! any that are off leash?

    January 2

    • ami

The park at 45th and Bull Creek is off-leash, sort of. Technically it's not really a dog park and there are signs that say leash only, but everyone takes their dogs off-leash there, for what it's worth.

Cedar Bark Park is off leash. Completely fenced.

Marcella and I frequent the "unofficial" dog park behind TxDot offices just south of 45th and Bull Creek and really enjoy it. Enormous semi-open area, a circular path of about a mile, far enough away from the streets so no worry about dogs running into one.
