This event is something that will be new to most of you and since I am now very familiar with the route we will continue with Annex Cat Rescue. I have committed us to doing the cat feeding once a month going forward which will make this event a regular for the club. I encourage everyone to try this type of volunteering out a least once. It really is a walk into another world that most of us would never see otherwise.
We sometimes think that being kind just means we need to have compassion for each other. We tend to forget that we share our world with many other living things. When we think about the homeless we think about people. And sometimes when the homeless people tell you they are hungry some of us still walk by and pretend we didn't hear them. Our furry little friends would do the same if they can speak our language...but they can't. So here I am asking you to join me for a night to show some love for our homeless cats in Toronto.
Because these routes need to remain discreet for the safety of the homeless cats (sometimes people will try to poison them because they are considered pests), we can only accommodate 4 volunteers. For this event please don't wear your costumes. We don't want to draw any attention to the group. I'd ask that you bring with you some dry cat food or some cans of wet cat food or some water. I'll bring some as well in case there's not enough but it would really help to get donations.
The meeting place each time will be in front of the KFC at Queen Street West and Augusta Street.
Even animals need love..
