Shake up your running schedule and join the BATC as we run from one day into another!
Join us on Friday, September 16th, at 11pm for BATC's first night group run. At night the temps are lower and energy is higher so lets all get together and run. This run takes place at Lake Montebello in Baltimore. The Lake (Its really a city water reservoir) has a well-lit, clean 1.4 mile biking and running path around it. This location allows runners or all levels to run together for different distances and different paces without losing sight of each other (Its a circle- so we can always see our fellow runners). Run one lap or five at 10 minute miles or 7 minute miles- its all up to you!
Since this is the first night-time event I want to create a fun, festive atmosphere, so the BATC will be distributing glow-in-the-dark necklaces and have random prize drawings for items such as gift cards to local bike and running shops, and goody bags. Prize drawings at midnight.
Location and Parking: Lake Montebello is located at 33rd and Hillen Rd in Baltimore (21218). If you enter at the Hillen entrance there is a parking lot to the right of the entrance in front of the old school. Please meet there. There are lights in the parking lot and lights illuminate the running path about every 1/3 of a mile.
Safety: According to the BPD's crime stats, there has been only one theft from a vehicle at Lake Montebello in the last 2 months. Still, as with any populated location, please be smart and secure your car. Carry your keys on the run, or give them to me and I will lock them in my trunk and carry my keys.
PLEASE RSVP- BATC is providing drinks, glow-in-the-dark necklaces and prizes and I need to know how many people are coming. Seriously people. Help me out here. If it rain we will reschedule!
