Meatonomics: Free Talk & Book Signing

Meatonomics is a new book by David Simon. VegNews called it "Riveting"... John Robbins said "Spectacularly Important"... Publishers Weekly assessed it as “provocative and persuasive.” and the Huffington Post says it is “superbly researched,” and “deserves a prime spot in the library of everyone who cares about the politics of food.”

Join author David Robinson Simon for an eye-opening, fact-filled discussion about MEATONOMICS (Conari Press, 2013). It’s the first book to explore the unseen economic forces that drive our animal food system and the strange ways these forces affect our spending, eating, health, prosperity, and longevity.

One startling revelation is that consumers have largely lost the ability to decide for ourselves what – and how much – to eat. Instead, those decisions are made for us by meat and dairy producers who control our buying choices with artificially low prices, misleading messaging, and heavy control over legislation and regulation. Discover what makes this bizarre system tick and how it can be fixed.

This event is free and open to all; please invite anyone you think may be interested.

David Robinson Simon is a lawyer and advocate for sustainable consumption. He works as general counsel for a healthcare company and serves on the board of the APRL Fund, a non-profit dedicated to protecting animals. David received his B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and his J.D. from the University of Southern California.

David Simon's talk about his book "Meatonomics" was outstanding and most compelling. "Meatonomics" is a wonderful resource for all who wish to no longer allow powerful industries to make our food choices for us. Learn more at

Hope you will join me this Wednesday. It's a great chance to get together with many cool like-minded people. The members of this church are great folks. I did a talk there about a year ago on "A Menu of Love: The Vegan Lifestyle". And there was a lot of interest and great discussion. Dave Simon's book is powerful stuff! Join us if you can!
