How easy or difficult have you found it to be vegan, or to move in that direction? Is there a specific way that you would like to be supported by this group, or a discussion topic that you would especially appeal to you?

When I'm home, being vegan is easy. The stigma applied and ignorance surrounding it can be frustrating at times, but you simply have to share insight on the wide range of ethical, ecological, social and health benefits of a vegan life. When I travel for work, it's difficult to verify that everything I eat is vegan, since I'm not always in the kitchen when it's prepared, so I'll usually stick to fruits, veggies, nuts and bars when in doubt.

I'm a Professional Organizer here in MD for half of the year, and a SM/PM/DT in the touring music industry for the other. I have been a vegetarian/vegan for 15+ years. I would like to meet and hang out with other vegetarians, vegans while at home.

What Gene B. is saying about this Meetup Group

Kudos to Don for putting the group together. It's tough being a vegan, in that there aren't enough of us out there in this fast food, don't think, media ruled world and I only hang around with a handful in the area as I strive to make people more accepting of the subject. Being around kindred spirits helps keep my batteries charged. Looking forward to more interactions with the group and members. Looking forward to that H Mart field trip. Cheers!
