i understand that this is some sort of step up, but it's really telling of just how far we've to go towards a semblance of societal sanity when the introduction of a piece of fruit into a growing child's diet is cause celebre. you'd think this was the stuff of science fiction horror -- 12 year olds having their first taste of nectarine.
