Join two hundred people enjoying a gourmet vegan feast Thursday, November 26 at the Hyatt
Regency Bethesda (http://bethesda.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp).Peace
activist Colman McCarthy is the featured speaker. See a sample menu on the VSDC website. Registration and appetizers start at noon and the meal starts at 1pm (please arrive by 1pm). There also will be music, non-profit exhibitors, door prizes, and a silent auction. Special tables for singles, families, or special needs, so please include table requests with your registration and we?ll do our best to honor them. Nonperishable food donations collected for Community of Hope.
Reservations are essential; there will be no walk-ins. The cost is $54 for members and $57 for non-members including tax and gratuity. Children 3-12 are $36, and under age 3 are free. AANG Kwanzaa Celebration, Mount Rainier, MD
Everyone ? regardless of race, religion, creed, or diet ? is welcome to celebrate Kwanzaa, VSDC style! VSDC?s African American Networking Group (AANG) will lead a thoughtful exploration of the seven timeless principles of Kwanzaa: Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima(Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), and Imani (Faith). Please bring a vegan dish or beverage to share. (?Vegan? means no meat, fish, poultry, dairy, eggs, honey,gelatin, or other animal products.) Please contact Merlene by December 1 to RSVP and to get the address and directions ([address removed] or[masked]). Allergy alert: three cats live there.

Jo in Veg Out, VSDC?s LGBT Network Group for lunch at Madras Palace (www.madraspalaceusa.com), 74 Bureau Drive, Gaithersburg, MD. The restaurant serves a vegetarian Indian buffet with lots of vegan choices. RSVP by December 9 to Del at [address removed] or[masked]-2928. Please give your name, how many people are coming, and either a phone number or e-mail address. LGBT is lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, but anyone and everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.

Bread and Brew is a certified ?Green Restaurant? serving fresh foods, with lots of vegan options. Bread & Brew is located at[masked]th Street NW, DC, a short walk from the Dupont Circle Metro station. Everyone will order on their own and pay directly to the restaurant.
