I will definitely be there Friday night.  I had so much fun at the Farm Sanctuary party seeing so many people I know from the farm, NYC, and from Maryland!

I know you went to that event. I really wanted to go. Was it great?
Spent Tofurkey Day in OC.
This Friday, I bought tickets to go to the Maryland Votes For Animals Fundraiser in Balto. Are you going?

Hi Ann,

I'm doing great--animals are healthy, my job is great, etc.  I just had a nice 4 days off work and took my new dog to different parks which was fun.  I'm keeping busy with animal events around town.  I just love this time of year.  Did Madeline tell you we went to NYC on the 22nd for the Farm Sanctuary fund raiser at Tavern on the Green?  What an outstanding event and we finally caught up on our lives during the 7 hours we spent in the car.  What have you been up to?

Hey Jamie!

How are you?

I can assure you that it never mattered to PETA if it ran or not and they knew it would not air.  But just like the ad that was rejected from the SuperBowl last year about the woman and the fruit, it will generate over a million hits on their website--which is the whole point!!  Go PETA!!!

Yes, the ad should be aired; it tells the truth! TV networks and folks who reject these kinds of ads have their heads in the sand. They do not want their illusions about what they eat to be turned into the true, cold hard facts; that a living, sentient being was killed for their pleasure and gluttony.
PETA is against animal abuse in EVERY form, ( entertainment, sport, food ,experiments).... for the animal's sake and our sake, also.
PETA is the largest animal rights organization in the world . Their ads cause much discussion and are therefore definitly effective. Tip toeing  through the issues is NOT effective, and not the way to proceed.                                                      Marsha k Kravetz

Hi Meetup Member,

Here's a video of an ad that PETA wanted to run on TV during the Thanksgiving parade today. The TV networks rejected it.

http://www.wesh.com/news/21722752/detail.html

What do you think of the ad? Let's assume that all the information that the little girl gave during her prayer is correct; do you think that an ad of this type is likely to be effective?

Do you think that a real life scene such as this during a Thanksgiving dinner would serve the vegetarian cause?

Replies will go to the group email list.

Peace, Don Robertson
