Ports del Maresme

Time to do some test run for Quebrantahuesos: Ports del Maresme, a 150k race around the climbs we all know. Starting from Arenys del Munt the route is along the climbs around Mataro and Montseny, with a total of 5 climbs and 2600m climbing.

More info here:

We can get there by train (really early!) from Arc de Triomf or Clot-Arago. There is a train at 6.19 am (!!!) at arc de triomf that will be in arenys del mar at 7.11. then there should be enough time to go the 3km to arenys del munt and pick up the race number.

it's actually quite sad that pro's find their satisfaction in posting rides on a platform for "regular" people. get your respect by being a good rider and not by taking the fun out of people's rides that just get on their bike in their free time.

I completely agree with your proposal. I'm depressed seeing they go more that x2 times faster than me.

there is actually a pro section (http://www.strava.com...) and it seems pros that are good at what they are doing have their account over there. the other ones are just some sad creatures. imagine you play football with your friends once a week and somehwhen some substitute player from barca comes along. he is not good enough to play with messi and co, but when playing with you he scores 10 goals and never gives you the ball. what would the reaction of all the other amateur players be? they would shake their head about this poor guy and just walk away. thats how i feel about pros on the "regular" strava.

Puigcerdà .. ¿dónde está Arenys de Munt? Good news is we have found Stefan's weakness which is chocolate biscotti. Bad news is Rutes del Montseny in 6 weeks is 170k!

Don't forget to print, sign and bring the "Declaracio del Cicloturista" when you pick up the race number.
    Download it here: http://www.muntbikes.com/2012/01/declaracio-del-cicloturista.html

Haven't really trained enough road bike this year ...yet. But I did this race last year, and it is very well organised, so it is a must do :-). I got a ride by car with a friend, so I will join you in Arensys de Munt.

Good luck guys - madly jealous. I've been out most days here in rainy/snowy/windy Ireland but only for a couple of hours or until my fingers & toes feel like the're going to snap off, whichever happens first.
