Although sparkling wines like Champagne and Cava have won the hearts of wine lovers long ago, there is still a lot of confusion about the terminology and understanding of the sparklers´ ¨younger cousins¨, the ¨lightly sparkling¨ or ¨semi-sparking¨ wines known as ¨Frizzante¨ in Italy, ¨Petillant¨ in France, ¨Perlwein¨ or ¨Spritzig¨ in Germany, and ¨Vinos de Aguja¨ in Spain.
Less alcoholic, with less pressure of the bubbles under the cap (under 3 atmospheres, while fully sparkling wines normally boast 5 to 6 atmospheres), these wines are drunk while young, meant to be consumed the same year as produced, and provide the freshness and charm of bubbles at a fraction of cost.
They are cheerful and cool (both literally and figuratively), and awaken the will to live and to share happy moments with your friends during these hot summer evenings.
During our 2-hour tasting session we will look at the ways of production of "Vinos de Aguja", as well as how to pair them with various dishes.
We will taste 5 wines altogether that differ in origin, grape varieties, color and degree of sweetness.
Snacks and appetizers will be provided.
The cost for participation is 25 EUR per person, to be paid either by cash at the workshop, or prepaid via PayPal or bank transfer (in this case the details to be advised by personal email).
The space is limited to 11 participants at a time.
Please RSVP by the morning of August 14, for us to consider the proper amount of wine and snacks.
In case of cancelation, we will appreciate your early notification.
Looking forward to seeing you and tasting delicious summer wines together!
