Cava is an important part of Catalan and Spanish family tradition and is often a focal point at celebrations, like baptisms, marriages, banquets, dinners and parties.
Referred to in the past as Spanish champagne, (which is no longer permitted under European Union laws), Cava, nevertheless, is not a “wannabe champagne” but a complete and exciting world onto itself, quite often underestimated by the wine lovers.
During our regular 2-hour session we will speak about the history of Cava’s invention and success, learn about the peculiarities of its production (and why it is different from other sparkling wines of the world), discuss grape varieties, tastes, serving and food matching suggestions; talk about some interesting styles and big names in Cava world.
And we are going to taste 5 Cavas, quite different from one another, some of them pleasantly unexpected!
Snacks and appetizers will be provided at the end of tasting.
The cost for participation is 25 EUR per person.
The space is limited to 15 participants at a time.
The exact tasting location to be advised briefly!
Please RSVP by the morning of June 14 latest, as we need to consider the amount of bottles and snacks to be purchased.
In case of cancelation, we will appreciate your early notification, to give the possibility to the waitlisted members to participate.
Looking forward to seeing you at our Meetup
