Monkton Farleigh - Long Splatt (7m)

This hill top walk has exposed views all along its path and is a lovely trek across the Wiltshire countryside.

It is fairly flat but can be windy on top. Watch out for golf balls on the 17th (it's a right of way through it!), although one golfer quipped that the safest place to walk is the middle of the green :-)

I hadn't intended on a pub stop, but a quick refresher won't go amiss...there are a couple of pubs about.

Thank you Chris and to everyone in the group for making me (as a new boy) feel so welcome. Great walk, great people, and we even got to have a beer afterwards!
Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

I RSVPed yes, but just remembered that I blew out my hiking boots recently. Is the terrain such that my running shoes would be okay?
