Evening Walk: Robert Earl of Gloucester and the Norman town.

A walk around the Park and Harbour into St Philips then across past Blackfriars, to St James Priory, weaving in and out of the medieval town walls around the culverted Frome, and above its Norman Route north of Old City, back to Corn Exchange. Earl of Gloucester Built the Castle Keep and founded St James Priory, so we will look at the earliest areas of settlement for Saxon and Norman Brigstowe.

We will see bits of See No Evil art as we explore where the walled town linked with the medieval religeous houses north of the River Frome.

We had sunshine and a pleasant stroll, and food outside at Quakers Friars.

On Corn Street, from the top of High Street from Bristol Bridge turn left and go past the coffee shop on your left to the brass nails in front of The Corn Exchange. The big doors will be closed under the clock. Let me know if you need direction from anywhere.
