A Circular Walk from the Station along Avon Walkway, via Glass Wharf and Totterdown Basin, cutting through Avon Meads and parts of Barton Hill to Netham Lock, then picking up the walkway again to Troopers Hill. We return over St Anne's Ferry Bridge, St Anne's Woods, St Anne's Park, Arnos Park and Arnos Vale Cemetry, picking up the Avon Walkway again from the footbridge into Sparke Evans Park.
There are a few bits of industrial heritage on this walk and just a few Victorian Houses, but its mainly a waterside and greenspace walk, hpefully with lots of Autumn colour. Bring drinks and pack lunch, or pick something up at Avon Meads. There will be a mixture of well finished path and pavement and uneven ground with steep bits up and down between the flat riverside walks.
9 miles, we will need to keep a good pace to get through Arnos Vale Cemetery before dusk.
Dress as you would for an off road hike with good shoes or boots, warm and waterproof clothes.
