Swineford (walk part 2) North stoke/Upton Cheyney

A431, the picnic site car park entrance next to the Swan pub in Swineford (NOT the Swan pub car park, it is behind it) there is a turning on the left 1/2 mile as you leave Bitton and Bristol. As you drive it enters into a big car park and picnic site.

The walk starts at Swineford picnic site car park, a steep walk up to the pretty village of North stoke and at the top great views for miles around. Will then track back towards Upton Cheyney.

Part 2 of this walk we did recently - will check weather conditions nearer the date.

Merry Christmas everyone, I am now counting the days until my Christmas birthday.

Thank you John for an hosting your last walk for 2013 (all the best with the new job. Your walks will be missed). It was a fun interesting event today and it was nice to meet members who have signed up for a few of my own walks. See you all soon and please keep in touch before the next walk.

The car park is behind the pub in Swineford, and you will see a sign to the picnic site from the road, walk is about 5 miles max and will finsh around 1.30 - my car is a silver astra and mobile is[masked]

Hope you can make it at the weekend, please no trainers (boots or wellies etc) as it is muddy underfoot. Laurence "Jeans" Burt will be around and also knows the route ;)

Hi John, Thinking of coming along. Should I wear wellies rather than trainers then? You mentioned part of walk is steep..but muddy...

Julie, trainers are not advised for any of the walks in the winter. Personally I use boots just something sensible as muddy in places

How far is it roughly please?

It is a circular route so halfway around can show you back towards the start.

Thanks. If there's no option to cut out a part it works mean only walking 1.5m with everyone so sadly I'll have to miss it. Have fun
