Panel discussion: Changing the Way Bristol is Run

Panel discussion: Changing the Way Bristol is Run: the "Parish Council" Model - A public meeting organised by Bristol for Democracy.

Mayor George Ferguson has promised to devolve more power to Bristol's Neighbourhood partnerships. But there's nothing to stop his successor reversing the changes. Many people, from all parties and none, have recommended the "Parish Council" framework for
Britain's cities, as a way of ensuring devolved power to local communities.

Our speakers are Councillor Jason Budd, Alderman Steve Comer, third speaker to be confirmed. There will also be a council expert who will explain the current system and introduce us to the Parish Council model.

Speeches will be kept short to allow plenty of time for discussion and questions from the floor.
