Chew valley lake - part 2

I'll put this one in the diary now. Can meet up and walk maybe around the nature reserve or walk to Stanton etc - meet in car park 2 (not the car park near the bridge) hope the weather is OK! Walk will be around 4 miles max.

Thanks Lawrence for organising, and it was the perfect first Meet Up for me. Thank you all for being so friendly.

Great walk today, but it was not the Chew Valley part 2 walk which John had planned weeks ago (see my photos from the first walk which were posted on here and you will see that the route has not changed), before he left. It was the same route as the first walk I went on last month which John had hosted.

There was a misunderstanding on the route and the mileage today. Lets hope we can walk part 2 which is only 4 miles and on the other side of the lake in 2014.

Nah! I didn't mind that it wasn't the part 2 route or that it wasn't 4 miles long. Like the others below, I thought the whole thing was excellent, with the right combination of people, company, friendliness, weather, and cream-tea at the end in the café! Well done Laurence for stepping in at the last minute and hosting.

er....The "part 2" I had in mind involved a walk along the nature trail from the car park, and to the forshore... although there are lots of good walks in the area. glad you enjoyed it! Really lovely area.

    Hi Laurence.

Many thanks for taking over this event at short notice, you did a sterling job, although you did bend the truth a bit about how far we had to go!

    Lovely day and great scenery.

Hope to see everyone again soon

    Jo

To help you to find it- Car Park no 2 is in a large clump/thicket/wood of trees off the lake-side of Walley Lane. This car park also contains the public toilets. The post code and map reference above are pretty accurate but it is easy to miss the entrance ---as I did the first time I went there!
