A colleague of mine is organizing a fundraising dinner for Syria, in preparation for a planned Medical Aid Convoy in April. The aim is to buy and deliver ambulances filled with medical and humanitarian aid to the people of Syria. This follows a previous convoy in September 2013.

More information on this event and the previous convoy is available at: www.supportingsyria.com

The evening includes:

Prominent Guest Speakers

3 Course Meal

Live Skype link up to Syria, (if possible)

Authentic Syrian goods on sale

Tickets are £15 only and can be obtained online from: http://supportingsyria.blogspot.co.uk/ or by phone  on 0780 3605017.

Please only RSVP once you have a ticket.

N.B. As this event is organised by the Muslim community please expect dress, food and drink at the event to reflect this. Thank you.

Want to help but unable to attend this event? Donations can be made at:

Good to know that they reached at least £20k. It it a great idea and wish I could do more. I should have contacted to my Pakistani friend who would be very much interested to be involved. I send her the website – hopefully she spread it to Pakistani community!!

Thanks very much to everyone for coming. My colleague was very grateful for all your support and hoped that you didn't feel too uncomfortable. They reached their £20k target with money still coming in today. It was certainly an interesting evening and not entirely what I had anticipated. I hope you all feel that it was a worthwhile. Do keep an eye on the website to see how they get on in April.

I did not know it was a serious fund raising party - I imagined that it would be an informal buffet type of party. I must say that I was feeling out of place and uncomfortable. I would like to support but unfortunately there is a limit for what I can do.... I could not stay until the end but hope they could raise funds as much as they needed.

    Hi Elsa,
I bought my ticket & I really want to support this, but I have another event I have to attend in Clifton until 5.30, so I won't be able to make it until around 5.45 pm. Is it a sit down dinner or a buffet? Do you know what time the food is starting?

    • Elsa

Hi I think you will be fine as it's arrive at 5 so don't think food will be served immediately but if you are concerned I suggest you call the organisers. I have reserved a table for us so you should be able to find up easily.
