Beginners One Day Workshop in Improvisational Comedy

A one day workshop for anyone interested in learning improvisational comedy!

The course will be led by Jeremy Finch, a regular teacher with the Spontaneity Shop based in London. This one day introduction will teach you the basics of improv and is open to anyone with absolutely any level of improvising or performing (down to zero).

You will learn valuable techniques in status, complicity, being "in the moment" and spontaneity. The day is sure to be lots of fun, but more importantly you will discover that you do not have to be funny to do improvisational comedy: it’s more about the process of listening to your environment and your fellow performers, discovering that failure is a necessary part of the learning process and letting go of the anxiety that blocks so much creativity. Jeremy is a wonderful teacher who will provide a fun, relaxed and safe environment for those who would like to discover the gifts that improvisational comedy can yield, such as increased confidence, creativity and joy.

Brought to you in conjunction with the Bath Improv group. The cost for the day will be £35 and participants will be asked to bring a contribution for a pot luck lunch. This is a bargain price due to getting the venue cheap - the usual cost for a weekend workshop in London is £ 120 for two days!

A really enjoyable day - the collective energy kept me going; now I'm feeling shattered!

(If anyone is interested, my Red Dwarf reference was to the opening scene of episode 1 of series 4 titled "Camile")

Sorry I missed this - real life got in the way, in the form of a missing wallet. I had even made a massive vat of pasta salad so will be eating that for the foreseeable. Hope it was fun.

    • Rhoda

Hi Laure - it will be in Bath, probably the Larkhall area, which is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the station. Am just waiting for confirmation from the venue and will post it as soon as it's definite.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
