According to my research - there is a Full Moon on 13 June and I thought it would be good fun (especially as it will be the summer and therefore guaranteed not to rain!!) to have a bite to eat and/or a couple of drinks at the Lock Inn cafe. Then, when we are ready for an excursion, 9.30 pm'ish - having given everyone time to eat and chat - we can walk along the canal tow path to the Cross Guns at Avoncliff.
This is not a long walk, a mile and a half I guess each way. I have checked the website and the Cross Guns is open until midnight, so we can have a loo stop/drink/chat there - and sit outside, by the river Avon and weir, weather permitting, or inside for those who prefer - and then walk back to Bradford on Avon alongside the canal again where our chariots await us (or your own cars).
Bradford on Avon train station is a five minute walk away from the Lock Inn Cafe. Obviously you will need to check train times out. I will contact both the Lock Inn Cafe and book a table for us all as it is busy at that time of year, and give Cross Guns advance warning that we will descend!!
Please be prepared - there is no lighting on the footpath and canal boats are tied up alongside so there can be bits of this, that and the other to trip over - I can't be responsible for anyone falling into the canal!! Bring a torch with you if you prefer to be safe rather than sorry, your lifejacket and anything else you may feel you need as my life saving skills are non-existent. Let's do it!!
