Charity Yoga

Hi All, 

I'll be starting regular Yoga classes in January 2014, however, I'm trying out the room in December (how many people can it handle). December is a great month to think about others in need, so the 2 classes (4th and 18th of December) will be donation based. All donations will go to Doctors without borders, who are currently fundraising for Syria and the Philippines. 

About the Yoga I teach: It's Naam Yoga, with Shakti Naam and Hatha Yoga elements. I've been teaching yoga on and off since the early 80s and Naam Yoga since 2010. 

Naam Yoga, based on the traditional 8 limbs of Yoga as practiced before the 20th Century and Shakti Naam, the Yoga taught by the Himalayan Masters (Shuksma Viyayama) is a holistic Yoga Style, combining Rhythm, Asanas, Mantra Acusound meditations, Breath work (Pranayama) and Relaxation. This powerful combination works to enhance your physical, spiritual and mental health. It is meant to stimulate the self-healing capacity that is present in each of us. It dissolves blocks, tension and the meditations work with sound (mantras) to break through our mind chatter. It helps us to stay focused and positive.


It's for all age groups and fitness levels. 

On the 4th of December we'll include a meditation for world peace and we'll be working to open our heart center (heart chakra).

On the 18th of December you'll learn a sequence to help fight the flu and colds.

      Hi Miriam, no, there are enough good mats available, as well as pillows. If you prefer your own mat, you could of course bring it along.
