Are you a fan of comedy but not comedy clubs? Do you want to see some of the best performers in the city in an inexpensive, laid-back setting? Do you want to see national headliners from shows like SNL and 30 Rock on the same lineup with the newest wave of up-and-coming comics? Want to brag to your friends that you saw "super famous guy or girl" before anybody knew who he or she was in the back of a bar with only 30 other people? If all that sounds great, but you don't know where to start, start here.

I'm a writer and a producer who runs several "alternative" shows in the city, but more importantly, I'm a huge comedy fan, just like you. And when I moved to NYC, I had no idea where to go to find great comedy without breaking into my rent money. After 12 years of digging into the comedy scene, I can tell you where to go for a great night of comedy, drinks and serious street cred.
