Bike to Nature: Coal Canyon

On Sunday, May 18th, The Bicycle Tree will again be partnering with Naturalist for You to bring you a Bike to Nature bike ride and hike. This time, we will ride along the Santa Ana River Trail to Coal Canyon for an approximately two mile hike. Throughout the trip, the expert naturalists of Naturalist for You will illuminate our surroundings by sharing their insights regarding the life around us. The bike ride portions will be easy-paced, no one left behind, with mechanical assistance on hand.

You can join some of us meeting at 7:00 am (leaving at 7:15 am) at The Bicycle Tree (811 N. Main St., Santa Ana 92701), and riding 12 miles to the ride start -OR- you can meet up at the official ride start in the parking lot in front of Wholesome Choice Market at 5755 E La Palma Ave., Anaheim 92807 at 8:30 am. We will leave from Wholesome Choice promptly at 9:00 am. From there, we will ride the 8 miles to Coal Canyon for the walk, which will include some hill climbs. We will walk at an easy pace, frequently stopping to observe our environment. We will return to the Wholesome Choice shopping center by 12:30 pm, where there are several lunch options. Those continuing will return to The Bicycle Tree by 2:45 pm. Difficulty level: moderate. $10 suggested donation per participant. Please bring your own water, snacks, sunscreen, and appropriate footwear. You may make sure your bike is in good working order prior to the ride by bringing it to one of our maintenance workshops!

Great fun, never realized there was so many types of water fowl in the Santa Ana River. Everyone was helpful and friendly.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
