This group was given birth by National Novel Writers Month (NaNoWriMo.org) and its intention is simple; to get like minded writers together to just write on a weekly basis.
I've named the group The Blank Page because the blank page is a writer's greatest fear. Writing is a solitary pursuit and in that pursuit the blank page can be so overwhelming that it stops us from writing all together. However, confronting that blank page aside others who are doing the same thing, gives us a united front in which we can conquer that fear and keep procrastination at bay.
This group welcomes all writers regardless of style, genre or experience. You can be a master of horror or a fan of poetry. You can be an experienced and published author or just someone who likes to journal. Beginners and pros are all welcome here.
As the group is in its infant stage, our direction for the future is open. For all intents and purposes, our actual meetups will be to write, and write as much as we can in the time that we have (which can be anywhere from one to two hours or more if people become unstoppable). Meetups will take place in and around the South Shore be it at Barnes and Noble, Borders or coffee houses. If you know of a great place that's conducive to writing (comfortable chairs, wireless internet, electrical outlets) please let us know.
If you're looking for constructive criticism, plot ideas or character evaluations, the message board is the best place for this. There you will find only honest and constructive feedback. And by honest, I mean no holds barred critics. With that said, abusive and disrespectful behavior are not welcomed and will not be tolerated.
One block west of the South Shore Plaza, exit 6 off Highway 93.
What members are saying
“ It is a place to get honest, constructive feedback on your writing. If you get distracted by other concerns, or don't set aside time for writing at home try this meetup group. ”
“ Very pleasant environment: just enough noise to counter writer's isolation, good lighting, electric outlets (helps to bring a power strip!) ...
