We are currently trying to arrange a board game club, hopefully to meet on Friday nights from 6:00 – 10:00 pm. The club will be held in an ESL school, and the games that we play will be at a language level which will be challenging yet accessible to ESL students at a high intermediate level or above. To start we will all be playing the same game, but if we can get enough people interested I would be open to having people playing different games at the same time. Please be clear that this is NOT an ESL class and so I encourage people other than ESL students to sign up. This will be more like a social club, and our focus will be on playing the games, not correcting English (although I hope that anyone that joins would not be opposed to doing so if another member asks). I will provide the games for the first meeting (and possibly the second as well), so there is no pressure to bring anything except an eagerness to learn and a love of board games (and possibly some munchies, but that’s up to you). Our first meeting will be on Friday, September 2nd. Please sign up by Wednesday, August 31 at 9:00 pm so we know how many people are coming.
