Boston AWS Meetup - Nov. 3, 2014 7pm

Boston AWS Meetup. Nov. 3rd, 7-9pm. RSVP required.

A big thank you to Mike Champion, Tech Lead with the Hubspot Engineering Group, for providing our meeting space AND our food! 25 1st St in Cambridge, near Lechmere Green Line or a ~10 minute walk from Kendall Sq.  1st Floor, Benioff Room (stay to the right as you enter from the main bldg entrance).

1st Presentation: Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment.

In developing consistent infrastructure, work from the developer's laptop to n-number of environments is taking too much effort.

In order to solve this through an efficient means HKM Consulting is redirecting focus from VM / AMIs  to Docker. This switch coincides with Docker's increasing adoption by software, private cloud, and public cloud vendors.

This presentation provides an overview of Docker, its application to a customer problem we faced, and demonstration of its application within AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

Presenter: Christopher Riley

Chris Riley is a founding Partner at HKM and has focused on the services and integration space since 1995 in a variety of pilot, implementation and training roles with companies such as PTC, IBM, Workday(formerly Cape Clear) and SOA Systems. In his various capacities, Chris has also been a speaker and contributor at QCon, SOA Symposium, ECAUG, Prentice Hall Podcasts and Toronto JUG along with publications in SOA Magazine and SOA Design Patterns. Currently Chris is supporting Fortune 500 companies in APIs, devops, cloud computing, and governance as part of their IT Strategy.
