This group is for fat folks in the Boston area to come together, discuss fat issues in a supportive environment, and eventually perform fat activism! Fat acceptance is the baseline here; we are working on loving our bodies as they are now, in all our beauty and wonderful abilities and differences! We see the word "fat" as a descriptor, and use it proudly.

Please join if you believe in the ideals of fat acceptance and if you want to love your body at the size it is now. Whether you are a long-standing fat acceptance activist or just discovering the wonderful world of loving your body as it is, or anywhere in between, this group is for you. Folks of all genders and gender presentations are welcome, though we might organize separate events for woman-identified or man-identified people down the line (for example clothing swaps).

We would like to be inclusive of all aspects of the fat experience, including health, fashion, internalized oppression, ability/disability, and intersectionality. Possible events might include discussions in members' homes, fat visibility events like restaurant dinners or picnics, or trips to the next Fat Girl Flea Market in NYC. We can make of this what we want!

Allies are welcome to join the group! Some events will, however, be designated as "safe space" for fat folks, so if you consider yourself a fat ally, rather than a fat person yourself, you should attend all but these.
