Demo Your Robots

We have not had meetings recently. The most popular have always been members demos of their projects. I can bring in a few. Other members should comment on what they can bring.

I would like to here opinions on meeting locations. The best location in the past has been Microsoft NERD in Cambridge, near MIT. They welcome tech clubs and have plenty of space. Let me here about time & day preferences. In the past most meetings were held at 6-7PM after work.

One of our best meetings. See the photos. A number of members brought their robot projects for demo.
Robotronic Evolution, a youth team, showed their entry in the First Tech Challenge:
    http://www.usfirst.org/
The team consists of 5 high school students:
Shreyansh Dhingra, Sishir Pasumarthy, Arjun Sonti, Harsha Ogoti and Shreyas Dommata. I explain my work on small & cheap robots. I plan to experiment with swarms, thus cheap is good. See photos.

Ben Axelrod showed his light-seeking robot. Ben works for iRobot.

Rick Spitz demonstrated hexacopter drone. Rick is launching a business to sell open-source copters:

The evening was completed with a "free lunch" of stir-fried chicken & veggies. Oakrobotics demoed their cooking machine.

Great meetup. It was especially cool seeing OliveR before it was on IEEE Robotics and Automation Society's video friday:

Enjoyed participating in Thursday's meetup. Nice to connect with everyone. As I mentioned in my presentation, I have now updated the "beta" website with more video clips at http://sidrones.com. If meet up are interested in participating in the beta of the personal drone customizable kits & tech info, there is also a place to sign up for upcoming kit beta.

I really enjoyed this last meetup. Was too bad that I couldn't demonstrate all the features of the robot I was working on. I had planned to show how easy it is to create multistep action patterns like exploration with obstacle avoidance and reinforcement learning with speech cues. If anyone is interested in learning more about this project, just send me a message.

Hello everyone, I am a coach for my son Shreyansh Dhingra's robotics team, RoboTronic Evolution. Our team takes part in several US First Robotics leagues and construct robot on different themes. They recently won their regionals tournament and were qualified for their State's Tournament, Besides learning and watching all of you guys, If possible, we would like to provide a small presentation to everyone about our current robot so that the team can have some experience of presenting it to their seniors. Please let me know. Thank You

You are welcome to make a presentation. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it. If you have slides, please put then on a memory stick so attendees can copy them to laptops. I doubt we will have a projector.

I have a background in selling into major food beverage and consumer package goods companies. I'm looking to network for a sales or business development position selling into that sector. Is tonight a good place for that?

I'll bring a small one-eyed light seeking robot. I may also have some Roomba wheel modules to give out (limited quantity).

    Hi All,
I'll be going to the jan 30 meeting, a first for me.
And I plan to bring my turtlebot and robot arm that i'm working on.

(I have a wheeled hand truck to schlep it, any hints on best place to park, or which entrance to roll up to?)
