Ty Burr, movie reviewer for the Boston Globe, has a book to promote: Gods Like Us: On Movie Stardom and Modern Fame. The title is provocative, so it should be interesting to hear what he has to say.

From the store website:
Ty Burr is the film critic for the Boston Globe. For more than a decade he wrote about movies for Entertainment Weekly, and he has also served in the film acquisitions department of HBO. He estimates that after thirty years of serious movie-watching, he has seen on the order of 10,680 films. On a good day, he remembers 7,000 of them.

This meetup event will start at 6:30 p.m. so we can find each other and get seats. Look for me carrying a red backpack.

The author talk and presentation starts at 7:00 p.m.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend this event so I know who to look for.

Ty Burr certainly has a way with words, and his presentation was fun and informative. I especially liked the movie clips. Not sure I agree with all of his hypotheses but that's what makes it interesting!

Don't forget to look for the red backpack. I'll be wearing red, too.
