At 13 miles in total, this is a fantastic walk for those who want great scenery whilst walking this wonderful area. (If you are a fan of the Bronte's it helps!!)
Although it's a hilly area, with great climbs, you will be rewarded with the views I will give you when we take a breather.
The walk starts and finishes at Haworth to follow a route, which skirts around the edge of the valley to arrive at the old Ponden Mill at Stanbury. A gentle climb above the reservoir to reach the first rest stop at Ponden Kirk. We follow the edge of the moor to find the Pennine Way which take's us to arrive at Top Withins and our well deserved lunch Stop.
A short time later, we head downhill to Bronte Bridge & then uphill again past the waterfall. At the top is an easy walk as we head to Leeshaw Reservoir. Across fields and stiles to what is known locally as "Stones" a bridleway which takes us to Oxenhope.
The last leg follows the railway line back to Haworth to finish.
Please note that this is for more experienced walkers only. Please bring over-trousers gaiters and descent walking boots as it's a pretty muddy walk.
