This walk is for the more experienced hikers only, as some of the routes may be difficult and steep in places.
This walk is about 12 miles and will take us about 5/6 hours to complete.
This is a grade 4 walk. Click here for further info.
We start by the canal in Todmorden and we follow an easy track which then takes us to Hebden Bridge, (Which is the easiest bit). Followed by a nice steady climb taking us towards Mytholmroyd.
We pass a "home for a Gnome" before turning right over a stile and up the steep side of the valley. Here at the top, we take a breather before heading along the top of the moor to reach Stoodley Pike. (Our lunch stop) About 8 Miles in!!
Now, that the climb is done, stocked up on lunch. We follow the reverse route of the Pennine Way to reach the Calderdale Way. It's downhill all the way as we then pass Mankinholes and Lumbutts.
Tarmac, wet and boggy fields and of course plenty of stiles to keep us going. We eventually drop down to finish back at Todmorden.
Finally, we stagger in the local bar for a quick refreshment before heading home.
Please note: This is a tough walk and is graded 4 for a reason.
