Thanks for looking at this group.
Before you decide on joining, please read the following.
We are not affiliated with Ramblers Yorkshire, as we are a separate walking group entirely. If you need to find further info on their walks.
http://www.ramblersyorkshire.org
All our walk leaders are not fully qualified, although they have led some very successful walks with us.
We do not allow more than 25 people to come on the walk, as we are generally more of a social group, than just a hike.
We take safety on the walks very serious, as our walk hosts check these routes to the best of their abilities.
Some questions and answers that you may be thinking of
When and how often are these walks?
All walks are held on a Saturday.
How do I know how difficult the walk is and will I be able to do this?
We are in the process of a grading system, which will give you an indication of how easy or how difficult the walk may be. So when scrolling down for a walk that you might like, the system will guide you.
Our walks are generally
Grade 2 - Leisurely walks for reasonably fit people with some country walking experience. The terrain many include some unsurfaced rural paths. For this one walking boots and insulated/waterproof layers are recommended. (This is now on a the 1st Sunday of the month)
Grade 3 - Moderate walks for people with decent country walking experience and a good level of fitness. This grade may include steeper inclines and open country routes at a brisk pace. A proper pair of walking boots as well as insulated and waterproof clothing is recommended.
Grade 4 - Strenuous walks for country walkers with plenty of experience and an above average level of overall fitness. This grade may include hills and rougher terrains and will be attacked at a brisker pace. Walking boots, insulated & waterproof clothing are essential. If your not 100% sure about the fitness needed for this particular grade it's always worth getting in contact with the group leader and inquiring before booking yourself on it.
What is the minimum and maximum age of the people in the group?
The minimum age is 18 and the maximum age is 70 (depending on the level of fitness)
Can I bring my dog?
Generally yes, but this depends on the walk host
I don't drive, so how can I get to the start locations?
Most of the walks start and finish at train stations where possible, but if not then, RSVP for the walk and post a comment that you would like a lift.
Whats the next step?
Click on the Join button and follow the instructions.
I've joined the group, RSVP'd for the walk, is there a cost involved?
Yes. For individual walks, the cost is £1, but if you decide that after a couple of walks you then decide that this group is for you and you want to come on more, we offer a yearly membership
Yearly Membership, what does that mean?
A yearly membership costs £10. This entitles you to come on as many walks for the next 12 months for free.
What happens to all the money collected?
At the end of the month, the money collected will go to pay for the site fees, plus any expenses incurred from reccying the walks. Every 6 months, I donate £50 to my favourite charity "Mind" in Bradford

On a final note of caution
If you are running late or unable to come, PLEASE, PLEASE, contact the walk leader to let them know. Walk hosts will generally give anything upto 15 minutes grace period. So please arrive on time.
As with other groups within Meetup, we offer a 3 strikes policy. This means, that if you fail to let the walk leader know about walks that you have RSVP'd and do not show up, then you will get an email reminder and may be removed from the group.
Also, please note, that if you have not visited the site or not attended a walk in 6 months, you may be removed from the group. However you can re-join again at anytime.
